This is all just setting is as an exploration of the role, and stereotype, of the housewife within the domestic setting. It is an exploration of sex-role stereotypes and the absurdity of the way women are forced into boxes. Influenced by the camp aesthetic, This is all just setting is a satire. This body of work aims to dismantle the systems that force women in the role of mother and wife, using humour as way to remove its power. It explores the world of the housewife, her home, her marriage, body image. Ultimately proving that the quest for perfection is futile; that it is all just setting.
